Freestyle Fridays
About freestylefridays.net
FreestyleFridays.net came about a few years ago as something fun to do on a Friday afternoon to kill time during work. I had a few friends who had a passion for the hip-hop culture and the concept of lyrical rhyme and improvisation. Put those two together, add a little bit of your own style, and you have a formula for some very interesting and creative rhymes. Since you can.t go around .spittin. rhymes and lyrics at work, we had to do it through email. What started out as a few people .spittin. rhymes and lyrics, immediately turned into about 10 to even 16 online/email lyricists. What was once a lazy Friday activity for fun, soon turned into a little bit of competition or perhaps what is better know as a .battle.. But hey, there.s nothing wrong with a little bit of competition. It.s the only way you can see if you are any good, and get better.

The building of this site was inspired and built by a few of my best friends. Actually, many of them were the ones who participated in the freestyle from the beginning. So they are the founders of this just as much as I am. Jason, Tito, Eddie, Dave, Ant, Chou, and especially last but not least Frank. Frank, you actually inspired all of us to get working on this. You are a great person a great friend and you throw a hell of block in football. So we hope you enjoy the site and feel free to hit us up with comments or suggestions that you might have on any aspect of the site.

Freestyle Competition Rules
1. Rhymes must be a paragraph to a paragraph and a half (no more no less) if it's longer or shorter, you will be disqualified

2. You only have ONE, I repeat ONE time to freestyle. If you go more than once you will be Disqualified.

3. You cannot get personal with another participant; it doesn't mean that you can't make fun of them, what this means is you cannot shout someone's family member or totally be f%$&* up about something that might create problems. For this rule, judges will use there own discretion. If they think you are getting too personal you will be disqualified.

4. The members participating on that Fridays Freestyle Session will be able to submit there Freestyles beginning at 9am, and will end at 4pm Eastern Time. Once the time has ended, the judges will read each rhyme to make sure that you have met the criteria of length and verbal usage; and then they will publish there decision on the website at 5pm
